As reported in Kitchen & Bath Design News (KBDN) & our own designer bathroom remodeling experience at Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths. Multiple designers referenced LED lighting, chrome finishes, coffee bar & juice bars as master bathroom remodeling trends to make life easier in todays busy home. The underlying theme is that home owners are making more personal choices, creating unique master bathrooms with less regard to what the ‘next buyer may want’.
One of those designer Lori Krengal of St Paul put it well and we concur ”Clients are looking more for what they want rather than what the next buyer might be looking for. They are making a commitment to a home that is now probably going to be a longer investment than it would have been in previous years.” Signature would add that highly personal modifications are almost always appreciated by the next buyer. Bottom line design & remodel your bathroom to your needs and taste and enjoy it for many years to come. When you do sell your potential buyer will be comparing houses A vs B vs C. Your unique well appointed master bathroom remodel will compare well to those conservative beige on beige competitors.
That designer and our designers at Signature think that clients are looking to expand when possible, aquiring square footage from adjacent closets and rooms, even the master bedroom itself to create a personal oasis. With our construction back round & in house craftsman discussing a two or three foot bump out master bathroom addition is also often discussed. It is amazing what 10 or 15 extra square feet can do for you bathroom remodel.
Privacy and separate his and hers spaces is often on the list. We are accomplishing this with centered column shower towers, back to back vanities, storage or closet areas, anything which divides the space yet is accessible from both sides. This is often made more interesting with open design. Which is accomplished with glass. In other words separate but open.
Something we have not done at Signature Kitchen Additions & Baths is adding a coffee or beverage bar to the bathroom. It does seem to make sense. Why trudge downstairs or for that matter mess up the kitchen when what you want at 6:30am is a cup of coffee while you shower. An automatic coffee maker becomes a unique alarm with its audibly low percolation & the pleasant odor of the brew. An under the counter fridge keeps milk & bottled water cold. As well as some medicines & even make up. We really like this idea and would love to do it for you. What do you think?
Another designer out of Illinois says she is seeing a lot more zero threshold showers, chrome finishes, wall mounted faucets, floating cabinets and LED lights. We are seeing much the same. Wall mounted faucets and a floating vanity as well as a Gerebit floating wall hung toilet create a very contemporary clean look. LED lighting under the cabinetry is then a snap. Our main bathroom which is also a display is almost exactly like this. Elongated drains is a zero threshold shower trend which we are almost always incorporating and it seems like the designers interviewed by KBDN are experiencing the same trend.
Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths is clearly on trend or even leading the trend. If that is the type of Design Build company you want to work with then please contact a designer today.
