Washington DC Bathroom Remodeling Company surmounts multiple problems
The 1940’s home had never been updated! 75 years. A testament to the quality of the original builder. However these bathrooms like most small DC bathrooms we remodel had the following issues:
• Each space was very small. Almost impossible for more than one craftsmen to work in at a time.
• The lighting essentially a single fixture was in series with other electrical devices throughout the house. As opposed to today’s standards where there is at least one dedicated circuit in each bathroom.
• The floors mud set tile. The mud set at least 3” thick. In other words a dc bathroom remodeling contractors least favorite but often run into demolition. It took three days to get both floors out with a jack hammer.
• Very old galvanized plumbing lines. All of which had to be replaced.
DC Bathroom Remodel The Good News
Carol was the good news for both her bathroom remodel in DC as well as her kitchen remodel which were designed and contracted for concurrently. According to Hamid Fadakar kitchen and bathroom designer at Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths. “Carol P brought the following to the table:
1. Open minded to more contemporary kitchen & bath design and materials.
2. Very decisive about style and color, selecting neutral and grey hues with smaller contrasting accent colors.
3. She had a realistic budget of just over one hundred thousand for a kitchen remodel & two bathroom remodels.
4. She was willing to expand the bathroom design space which meant giving up other space. In other words a bit more bathroom and a bit less bedroom. This allowed us to add a more spacious shower in her DC master bathroom as well as closet space.
5. She wanted a DC design build company vs dc bathroom remodeling contractor who would executed someone else’s design. She appreciated our process more than anything else.
Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths used all in house craftsmen to do the work. Carlos & Israel were the crew members on these two DC bathroom remodels, as well as the kitchen remodel. As stated Hamid Fadakar was the kitchen and bathroom designer and Sara Estrada was the project coordinator. Sara Estrada is a unique project coordinator for Washington DC bathroom remodeling contractors. Few employ women for these positions. However Signature has found that women, no surprise, rarely forget details and are therefore great team members in all our kitchen and bathroom remodels.
